In summer, I often come across old movies on TV, and tonight I caught part of Django, the original 1966 film directed by Sergio Corbucci, one of the early spaghetti westerns.
The film was the first of a long series of imitations and remakes featuring the character of Django.
The title comes from jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, whom Corbucci was a fan of.
The film had a huge influence on the genre, though I've other favourites…

I haven't watched this restored version yet but the visual quality is high & some quick skimming seems to indicate the audio quality is good too

The Italian word "sprezzatura" is one of my favorites.
It means "a practiced nonchalance." Or, put more plainly, "working hard to make difficult things look easy/effortless."
Spaghetti western legend (and one of my favorite actors) Terence Hill (real name, Mario Girotti) is spezzatura in human form.
He also makes me very, very hungry for a plate of beans...if you got the money.

Here's one you don't see very often . . . a #SpaghettiWestern called #RedSun (1971) starring #CharlesBronson & #ToshiroMifune. I have the #DVD but just streamed it on #Tubi.
The other film was #HellInThePacific (1968), a WWII film that he co-starred in with #LeeMarvin that is also rarely seen & that I also have on #dvd
Two rare performances by Mifune in a US film or TV productions. Watch them if you can find them.
