My beloved is #ReadingAloud the #JohnVarley novel #RollingThunder to me. It's a favourite past time where I get read to while I prepare meals. We've just gotten to the part where the protagonist has made #ElectronicMusic played against the sped up synchronous tone sequences made by some curious artefacts.
Friends, I think this may be a reference to a form of proto #BonkWave or #NotBonkWave as it sounds very much like what happens when I hear #Benjolin and #TuringMachine sequences and try to harmonise with it. It could also be #SpaceJazz.

Wow! The Gaslamp Killer is back - together with Jason Wool.
Their album is not even released yet - "just" 2 teasers.
But I already think my personal "Album of the year" has finally found me. This really happens like once a year when I'm 5 seconds in and think... WOW. Next track, 5s in, WOW.
Let's just focus at the first prereleased track "Chaos in the Brain":
What starts like a smooth St Germain coffee bar feel good track from the 90s soon develops into a strange Brazil space jazz alike something something, complete with the typical Gaslamp Killer monosynth 70s arps getting lost in the void. Full of sparkling ideas, even refreshing in this current summer heat. Cocktail jazzy as hell still.

Late night listening.
Not exactly cosmic jazz, not progressive rock, not what I’d call fusion, and yet it’s a fusion of many things. I can tell you what it feels like, though. Meandering very late at night through half-deserted city streets, sensing mystery and possibility, finding a hidden secret around every corner. A wordless drama that you’ll think about for days afterward.
