Here's my take on a "hard sf" take on the Enterprise. It's a tether baton that spins for spin gravity and to keep the tether taut.
Main propulsion is anti-matter catalyzed fission sail, with anti-protons aimed at the fission sheet where the magloop will deflect the charged particles parallel to the axis of rotation.
The fission sheet is periodically "repaired" by recycling through a fuel store module that melts damaged sheet and extrudes fresh sheet.
