Oh, I would not have expected that car on top after 24h.

I guess it was the heat that got to people’s brains. This week I more than ever in the just about nine years I’ve been on Mastodon I had to block and mute and filter to keep my timeline halfway sane.
On Monday evening I went to a photo walk in Basel. The vibe in the city was great, everyone was in a relaxed evening mood.
I am spending most of the weekend watching the 24h of Spa, which should be the last of the 24h races of the year that I follow along. It’s been pretty exciting so far and there are still another 90 minutes to go.

As a tribute to the race I’ve done my own little enduro this morning – three hours in Automobilista 2 in a Porsche in Spa. I’ve managed to end up third which is pretty good, given that I got punted out after the first hour and had to fight my way back up to the front. -
That Porsche kerkuffle was *very* unnecessary.

Funny watching the Spa 24 Hours a few weeks ago sponsored by CrowdStrike, where the CEO won his class and this happens.

You have to work very hard for it for 24 hours straight, but the reward is a very nice view indeed. Moving the podium here has been one of the better ideas of the past 100 years.

The music part of my brain has kicked in. That background music we are hearing, isn’t that the original #FIAGT #BlancpainGT music?? I’ve secretly always preferred it over the music we’ve had for the past few years so I’m rather pleased to hear it again.

Normally I’d talk to the tv to tell a driver to calm down and keep their cool. However, under the circumstances I can understand only too well why Pier Guidi probably has steam coming out his ears.

There’s always a corner on the track where the most pivotal move of the race takes place. However, I really didn’t think that it was going to be this corner. Or that the move would be made by a marshal.

We started with 66 cars, but have only just over 42 left now. It seems that during the past 23 hours, a lot of odds weren’t in anyone’s favour…

In a weird sort of way, having a barrier clash tear a wheel clean of your car just before the pitlane entrance is less bad than this; getting a puncture at the back of the circuit. Reaching the pitlane feels like it takes aaaaaages.
