It’s a good idea. The Québec sovereigntists are not the same as those in Alberta. They are true sovereigntists… the Albertan traitors are agents of the American regime and O&G industry.

By the way, this doesn’t mean I want sovereigntists in Québec to succeed in their effort to be independent of Canada. I want all of Canada to stick together. But I respect that the movement in Quebec is a legitimate national, social, movement and expression of a different culture and identity.

In Alberta, all it is is an underhanded, traitorous way to hand Canadian oil to the USA, permanently.

as you may know (if you don't you live in a beautiful place and do not search about it online), some country thay may of may not have 250 yo, have made all their allies ennemies.

So with this in mind, i actually update my personal threat model and my emergency continuity plan (what to do if something break).

So my question now, how do you handle the update / fix mechanism of self hosted (and the os itself) ?

Because as you may (or may not) know, nearly all system use US tech for their update (flatpak load balancing use it too, so if no US tech no local cdn auto selection an update fail) ?

it's funny to see all "sovereign" tool, all using mandatory US server.

Like nexcloud that can be briked by microsoft at will (github), or collabora that is unable to be installed without us server (flatpak / snap).

Be aware of those sc*m that sell you LIE, and give your money to REAL sovereign tool

Just so you know you can use Opensuse without problem now as their license changed : "For the European Union, this position aligns with the EU Dual-Use Regulation’s exclusion for “in the public domain” technology and software and the associated encryption source code treatment (e.g., Regulation (EU) 2021/821, Annex I Note 2 and General Technology Note)."

So now as european you will not be in limbo when using them.

I really fed up with company that are sovereinty washing ... like Vivaldi (i will not mention them since they reported my last account post calling them out on this (they are no better than bigtech on the censorship point).

They run on hyperscaller and use US CDN.

Yet dare to call themself European ?

Good joke vivaldi, and even if i need 3 tousand account on 3 tousand server you will never silence me to call out your hypocrisy.
