SLOWDIVE
Souvlaki
2025 Europe reissue
Another beautiful Fall day on the island today.
Blustery winds and leaves flying around everywhere calls for some classic #shoegaze .
This is a record I will never tire of. I revisit it SEVERAL times a year, along with Ride’s Nowhere, which I both owned on cassette as a kid, and which I both drilled into the ground.
To save myself the trouble of having to switch tapes in and out of my Walkman during my super long walks home from detention, I made a blank tape with all of Souvlaki on one side, and Nowhere on the other.
Today is a day where I may have to throw Nowhere on immediately after this is over.
Just such a classic.
First two songs out the gate (Alison, Machine Gun), are an incredible opening 1-2 punch.
