@FanCityKnits Yes! On trips, I try to visit a locally owned shop, look for yarn by a local dyer, and pick up a skein of fingering weight in colors that will remind me of the place. I haven’t tried socks so mine usually end up as scarves or shawlettes. Here’s one that came with a locally produced pattern as well: Third Ward by artsdeboheme of The Quarter Stitch in New Orleans. Yarn brand Dragonfly Fibers isn’t local but the colorway Queen of Bounce was produced for the shop. #SouvenierYarn

Whenever I travel I try to pick up a ball of (sock) yarn as a memory for the holiday. I might buy a local yarn (if that's possible). Or try to shop at a exceptionally nice store. Or search for colors that remind me of where I was.
Or I just ask my SO what colors he would like to have socks. They are usually very colorful.
Are others also buying souvenir yarn?
