  1. I need to write up my thoughts to organize them. But I had someone recently -- a young professional from Savannah -- that I should talk to someone but I might not think they were very smart at first because they had a deep Southern accent. It's wild this is still a thing.

Got me thinking about the classism that's baked into us, even lifelong Southerners hating ourselves.

And about how much I HATE the term "redneck" used to mean "white trash."

I come from a family of #rednecks who are farm workers and construction workers. And they all work harder than you, I bet, for much less.

  5. While I’m posting random nonsense, Ron is the guy who told me one of the great truths of #softwaredevelopment

I had come downstairs after spending hours troubleshooting a bug that of course turned out to be a one line change. I told Ron about my frustration and he said, “yeah it’s one line. But the trick is knowing which line to change.”

I do not believe twirled his mustache but he should have

  9. There’s a man at another table who has a massive handlebar mustache. Curls at the end, it’s incredible. He has more hair in that mustache than on his head. All completely white.

I used to work with a guy who had a mustache like that. His name was Ron and he was Texan, as he would tell you at a moments notice.

I’ve no idea if this man is Texan. I kinda hope so, as a tribute to Ron.

  13. There’s a way a Southern woman can say “thank you” where the “you” has 3 syllables. It’s amazing and amusing

The lady at the table next to me just did it.
