Ursache dafür ist eine #Erwärmung in der #Stratosphäre über der #Antarktis, die durch #OberflächenHitzewellen ausgelöst wurde. Diese "sudden stratospheric warming"-Ereignisse können polare #Luftmassen nach Norden verschieben und beeinflussen langfristig das #Wetter.
