Apparently Betamax video cassettes are the reason why 44.1kHz sampling rate is in the CD Red Book standard rather than a round number. I am pleased that the podcast gave the correct members of Art of Noise.

Okay...possibly the difference between mostly irrelevant and totally useless is splitting hairs but for gear #SoundOnSound is still pretty good and writers at #MixOnline are very much still on their game
