And it probably says other things about me that my first recent purchase of #vinyl to be played on my new Sound Burger was a re-release of an old favorite.
Dave Brubeck and the Quartet made a significant impact on my taste and interest in music.
Mom owned a copy of the original Time Out album and I spent many an afternoon borrowing it.
I've had it on cassette and CD, but never on vinyl.
Originals are a bit pricey, and I may yet find one. But in the meantime, I found a re-release that will do me just fine for now. and the LP is pressed in clear blue!

I think it says something about me and my nostalgia that the first LP I played was a near-mint copy of an LP I had when I was very very young. It was a Ronco release of Disney movie soundtrack songs. I played the original to death and it shows. I still have it. But some time ago, I found a seller with a very well kept copy that included the original liner and some cardboard character cut-outs that came with the album. I didn't have anything to play it on at the time, but I figured I might some day, so nostalgia took over, and I got it.
This was the first thing to be spun on my new Sound Burger.

Vinyl has been making its comeback, and I've been feeling nostalgic.
Back in 1983, Audio-Technica released this portable record player called the Sound Burger. Battery powered. Super portable. And the reviews were pretty good for what it was.
In November 2022, Audio-Technica re-released a special edition version of the Sound Burger upgraded with Bluetooth and a longer battery life. Unfortunately I missed the initial re-release, and they sold out very quickly. With the renewed public interest, they promised another release, and in January, they released another version. Those also sold out fairly quickly, but Audio-Technica promised more.
Reviews of the re-releases were good. It was not intended to be a high end turntable, but it was definitely not a toy.
Somewhere after the second re-release, I decided I needed to get one if just to spin a few old LPs I have and maybe to dip a toe in collecting new stuff. So I did. And it's been fun!

Voilà un bon moment que je songeais à me refaire une petite collection de disques vinyle 💿, en utilisant une platine portative sans fil, type #SoundBurger ou #SonyFlamingo.
En cherchant si ce type de lecteur existait, j'étais tombé sur un projet #KickStarter très intéressant : le #Coturn CT-01 (livré début 2023)
300€ pour un projet largement financé, avec les risques toujours qu'un projet n'aboutisse pas, ou dans 10 ans, j'ai préféré attendre... #Turnable #Vinyl
