oh here'a an old piece from august 2022
i'd drawn this before soul hackers 2 actually released. i have very conflicted thoughts about that game - i think i was too out of the loop to know that this particular frost was locked behind a paywall, for one thing - but going back over my old work i'm surprised this one sorta holds up. ai-ho!

Soul Hackers 2 platinum trophy is done. I enjoyed this one a lot more than expected. JRPGs need more stories with an adult cast of characters.

Moving on to Soul Hackers 2 for PlayStation 5, "the latest RPG from ATLUS."
This will be my first non-Persona Shin Megami Tensei game. 🤞

I can see why #SoulHackers2 got some pretty mixed reviews. It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but it's really more of a dungeon crawler. If you went in expecting a Persona-style plot heavy RPG you'd definitely be disappointed.

The balance on #SoulHackers2 seems very odd.
See, there's the mainline plot, and then there's a dungeon crawling "develop your characters" side. I went through the dungeon crawling section before moving the plot on, thinking it'd be a good chance to get ahead of the level curve... And it was! For the first section of the plot dungeon. And then the monster levels ramped up *really super fast* as the dungeon went on.
This is gonna produce one weird-ass level curve.

Also the game seems really hand-holdy. A lot of games seem to be doing that lately and I'm not a huge fan. I don't need you to ask me twice if I want to close a help window, I don't want auto-battle as one of my primary commands, and I *seriously* do not want character barks every time I select a less than super effective attack. Jeez. #SoulHackers2 #Gaming #RPG #JRPG

Further #SoulHackers2 thoughts:
-The voice acting is good but WAY too frequent. Do I really need a bark *from everyone* every time I so much as change targets? The navigator shouts whenever a monster is visible on the overworld, it's just WAY too much.
-...There is Demon Fusion in this game, right?

Played the first hour or two of #SoulHackers2, some initial thoughts:
-I really appreciate that the main character is a bit of a bitch. So often when you have a woman as the MC they have to be either pure hearted or totally professional. It's nice to have the reckless asshole be a woman for once.
-Soundtrack seems solid so far, I was a little worried since Meguro isn't doing this one :/
-That first boss was a bit... for lack of a better term, cringe. Please stop rapping at me.

Mówiłem, że paczki były dwie? Płytki zmieściły się w jednej, więc jedziemy z rozpakowywaniem kolejnej 😁
#visualnovel.e znowu wysunęły się na czołówkę moich ulubionych gatunków, ale zanim obwinicie za to biedne Utawarerumono , wcześniej swoje trzy grosze dołożyła Persona 3 Reload. I pozostając w jej duchu, kolekcja #TeamPudełka powiększyła się dzisiaj aż o dwie pozycje!
#SoulHackers2 tytuł który przewijał mi się w polecajkach od dawna, nawet chyba był dostępny w Game Pass swego czasu, ale jakoś nigdy nie udało mi się go wypróbować. Teraz już nie mam wymówki 😁 I z tej dwójki jest to zdecydowanie bardziej znany tytuł.
#MatoAnomalies – tytuł o którym do niedawna nie słyszałem nic, trafiłem nań przeszukując ofertę jednego ze sklepów. Chcąc sprawdzić recenzje – też za dużo materiałów nie szło znaleźć, zupełnie jakby tytuł przeszedł kompletnie bez echa 🤔 #visualnovel.a + RPG + turowa walka? Jak mógłbym przejść obojętnie! Do tego wydanie wzbogacone o bardzo ładny artbook i to nie jakieś naście stron na śliskim papierze, które ostatnio są „dorzucane” do wydań „premium” gier.

All Atlus games have it and the only one I've played on #Steam was #SoulHackers2 and it froze only after 50h so I take it as a positive experience. But DD2 is a new game so I dunno. Where are you going to play the game? #pcgaming #videogames #rpg
