I’ve underplayed talks in the past, but I’ve changed my mind with this one and popped it in a couple of CFPs while it’s warmed up 🙂

Would love to take it to more conferences this year or next year 🙂

@DavidDarnes I’ve been working on a thing in my spare time which uses web components, but I got stumped by how to do the layout, getting subgrid to apply to things in each component’s shadow DOM. I have redone it using entirely light DOM and it’s much more clear and it works, and I wouldn’t have thought to do that without your #SotB2024 talk! Feels like I have achieved some sort of epiphany of understanding. Thank you!

After State of the Browser 2024 #SotB2024 I noted down the conferences I would love to attend next. Some of them were recommended at the event.

A few shots of #sotb2024 which was basically a sort of geeky Gathering of the Juggalos for UK (and NL) web devs. Lovely to see so many old friends, although I'm a bit envious of the one who learned CSS and now owns a 5 bedroom house in Mayfair.

Here's @sil looking all enigmatic in a bower of flowers, not unlike the Lady of Shallot who he was banging on about yesterday at #sotb2024

TIL at State of the Browser #SotB2024: all browsers on iOS are actually Safari wrappers, meaning that when I'm using Firefox on my iPad I'm actually using Safari. SMH Apple.

That explains why performance is so bad, probably.

I had a lot of conversations at #SOTB2024 around the state of the industry, tooling, undervalued skills, AI, etc. I feel like I should write a post while it's still fresh.
