After a few weeks of usage I have to say I love the Sonos Arc Ultra. But one thing annoys me.

The Arc Ultra has a feature called Speech Enhancement. It boosts voices and lowers everything else without losing depth of the lowered sounds. Much better than what the Apple TV does. And it works everywhere (unlike the Apple TV feature).

But that's also the bad part. It works everywhere. It also works when listening to music. And it makes music worse. Gladly you can disable it. It's just a tap away in the app. But… Who has time for that? I don't want to pull out my phone when I start playing music.

So I found a workaround with #HomeAssistant

When the TV as an input device is disconnect (read: The TV is off) my Home Assistant now disables Speech Enhancement. The moment the TV is turned on and the Sonos Arc has the TV as an input device again, it's enabled.

It doesn't work for music played via the TV, but I don't do this very often, so I guess it's okay.

I technically could detect the Apple Music App from my Apple TV to also trigger this. But this would not work for music on YouTube. But the sound quality on YouTube is bad anyways so I guess this wouldn't be that annoying.

Still exploring my options here.
