Can this finally become standard in modern games please?
Especially when it's level based and/or has hard difficulties where you can die in seconds.

After finishing Shadow Generations, I've played Green Hill in Sonic Generations again after 10+ years and I just couldn't stop smiling.
It still looks absolutely amazing and the flow of the stage is great.
Really the only bummer is that this game only has FXAA. It does have resolution scaling but you can only go under 100%, not above to get antialiasing.

So, #SonicTheHedgehog players of Mastodon, let me ask again! Are hub worlds good for this series?
I asked before, and I want to ask again, to see if the results were a fluke. The last time I asked, it was almost right after the release of #SonicXShadowGenerations had happened, which likely skewed the results somewhat, at least as far as Shadow Generations specifically is concerned. I expect the honeymoon period has probably passed by now; it’s still recognized as a really good game, but now people are moving on.
So once again: How do we feel about hub worlds in Sonic the Hedgehog video games in general? Were they mostly good or mostly terrible? Consider this question across the series’s history from Shadow Gens’s White Space to the Adventure Fields of #SonicAdventure, all the way back to Newtrogic High Zone in #KnucklesChaotix. Everything comes into play.
I’m very aware there’s nuances and such to account for, with a series that has been so very inconsistent with its gameplay as Sonic has been throughout its history for better and for worse, but in aggregate… Has the idea of the hub world worked more often than it didn’t?
