I'd read so many good things about The Cure's last album, and seen it on many AOTY lists, that I finally bought a copy.

My, it's a dark and lovely thing. Lush, atmospheric, melodic, almost too intense in places. 🖤

Fittingly for an album so much about ageing and death, I bought it on CD, because I am... not that young. 😅

I haven't listened to it enough yet but I'd dare say it's as good as Disintegration except without the happy songs.

Prompted by so many listening to the new album by the Cure, I thought I'd start with the live show. Somehow, I've not really paid too much attention to the cure - they came up a little after my student years. Although familiar with many of their songs, I don't own any of their albums.
I rather enjoyed this. The first set - the new album - is dark and moody. The second set - all the old numbers - is dark and moody...
