I just listened to a song that was 8 bars of a repeating loop followed by ANOTHER 8 bars of the same loop, with a few drums added. I had to listen to that riff 8 TIMES. We're 35 seconds in and I'm already bored, because the melodic riff was not very engaging to begin with (just 2 notes).
