I bought this to start off my sticker collection to add some whimsy to the back of my (hopelessly dingy) laptop.
I searched for some inspiration as to how to position it so that future stickers would have a good amount of space. But in the process, I accidentally doomscrolled into a Tenth Dentist thread where some guy was arguing that laptop stickers were ridiculous and childish.
As I kept looking at his increasingly unhinged responses, holding up as a sin similar to getting drunk at a funeral or wearing a t-shirt to a wedding, I got the unholy urge to smother all my mortal possessions in stickers, if only on the off chance this guy might see it and know misery.
And I remembered.
I HAD A STICKER
The sheer amount of TRIUMPH I felt when I put it on my laptop! Is the positioning perfect? No! Does it matter? Also no!

And according to PMJared (guy who made it), apparently Sonic is one of the characters who has canonically “smashed” in SSB.
How he reached that conclusion?
The brief moment when Sonic and Elise make eye contact after the forest scene in 06.

I don't think Sonic would be much of a cuddler in general, but one of my oddly specific headcanons is that Sonic likes to lay next to Elise and just. Listen to her heartbeat. :bigblobhajhug:
In 06, he lost her—as in, she actually died, so the idea of him trying to confirm that yes, she really is there, even if he doesn't fully realize what he's doing or why he's doing it, is so heartwarming to me.

This is just a short, sweet microfic where Elise cares for Sonic's injury (?)—or, tries to, anyway.

CW: Sonic x Elise Microfic, longer post (living my best life on Glitch-soc Mastodon)
Sonic set Elise down, her legs wobbling as she got used to solid ground.
"This won't take a second." Sonic stretched, cracked his knuckles, and bolted towards the robots that had been following them.
He spin dashed into one, then roundhouse kicked the next, and the bots exploded in a burst of flames. Sonic emerged unscathed.Elise was completely silent. Sonic certainly had a flair for the dramatic, but seeing him in action was something else. He was still now; the only sign anything of note had happened were the broken robot parts and the wind he had picked up, which still tugged at her hair and dress.
"You okay?"
You just used your body as a projectile to destroy robots, and you ask me if I'm okay?
"Oh. Yes. I am." Elise at last said. "I just didn't think that you could take care of them so quickly! You really are as amazing as they say!"
Sonic chuckled, scratching his spines. "Yeah. I guess." his eyes widened, and he corrected himself. "What I mean to say is—it is kinda cool, when you think about it—" Sonic kept compulsively rubbing his shoulder.
"You don't have any bruises, do you?"
Sonic's hand faltered, and he let it fall to his side. "Huh?"
"You're rubbing your shoulder." Elise kneeled next to him and took his arm. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Sonic tried to pull away, but she already was holding him.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I was just, y'know—"Elise's face fell when he broke out of her grasp.
Sonic looked at her apologetically, looking away. "I'm just not used to being fussed over, that's all." he started scratching his nose.
Dramatic in more ways than one, it seemed.

I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that Sonic and Shadow's interactions felt very funny and in character, and the relationship between Elise and Sabrina was endearing as well, in spite of the author having nothing in canon to draw on for it.
Plus the multiple ship teases between Sonic and Elise, even though they never actually interact in the fic. :ablobcatheartsqueeze: I've never seen a fic pull that off before with a pairing!
