  1. I’ve had a productive couple of days …

the #Atmos height channels are all now up in the air, and it makes a *huge* difference in how the system actually sounds.

It’s as if someone has lifted the roof off, and all this activity that was going on above my head is revealed …

clear as can be, like I’ve moved from #Flatland into the world of the third dimension. Woohoo! #3D

I still have some things to get sorted out; I need to pick up some more speaker wire, as some of the cables are now too short, and draping in the wrong places.

Some of my artwork will need to be moved … I may need to get creative and come up with new ideas to fill some of the spaces that are more sympatico with … you know, speakers on poles.

I feel like mentioning MakerStock.com, which was a great source for precision cut Baltic Birch plywood for the speaker mounts. I don’t have a wood shop, so they were a big help!

The #TTArtisan fisheye lens gets everything into the picture … and as you can see, my keyboards are happy with the change, and they’re smiling now, too. : )

Thanks for putting up with my babbling about this over multiple weeks and posts … it really has paid off in a major way – more than I let myself hope for.

It will take me a little while to pick up the #Sonarworks calibration software, but that will go a long way towards compensating for this less-than-optimal mixing environment.

  6. Now that UAudio Apollo has partnered with Sonarworks to embed profiles, I wish they'd let me set different profiles for each output. Next Rev? CoreZeroStudio.com
    #corezerostudio #mainerecordingstudio #uaudio #apollo #sonarworks #soundid

  7. Installed Sonarworks years ago, total game changer! No more car tests or mix revisions. New studio setup is a struggle though. Anyone else having Sonarworks issues? CoreZeroStudio.com #corezerostudio #mainerecordingstudio #roomtuning #sonarworks #soundid

  8. Drop a reverb that allows custom impulse response loading onto your master/main bus, locate a measurement for your headphones under the Results folder in the github project, and load the appropriate IR wav file into your reverb. Set the wet/dry mix to 100%.

Now you can toggle calibration on/off at will while mixing. No more #sonarworks licensing or upgrade fees.

  9. 2/2
    Yesterday cont.
on top of that been getting weird, random audio pops and clicks since changing #focusrite drivers, changing buffer size doesn't fix.
went back to the legacy 3.06 drivers that are rock solid, same bloody issue!
    Tearing my hair out!!
randomly shut down #Sonarworks #SoundID and pops and clicks disappeared!!!.

Have to completely uninstall & reinstall sonarworks when changing interface drivers or sonarworks shits the bed and throws its toys out of the pram.

    absolute shitshow!

  13. spent the evening calibrating both my sets of studio monitors with REW and #sonarworks
    Such a transformation!!
My Alesis Monitor One Mk2 studio monitors may be almost 20 years old but hot damn do they sound amazing calibrated!!!
The PreSonus Eris 4.5BT's I have sound ok, but reflect their budget price and don't come close to the Alesis!
But nice to have another audio reference.
