In happier news that's related to the short story that's my WIP, I'm thinking that Ray Bradbury and Stephen King have left a permanent mark on three whole generations of US-Americans (and others around the world) when it comes to conceptions of clowns and carnivals.

Remembering Royal (Edward) Dano (1922-1994), the great American character actor, born in Santa Monica #onthisday, 100 years ago. An often imposing presence in almost 200 films and TV shows, and a regular in westerns (notably #JohnnyGuitar, 1954), his memorable genre roles included as the reclusive painter in #MessiahofEvil (1973) and Tom Fury in #SomethingWickedThisWayComes (1983). Among his final appearances was as Judge Sternwood in #TwinPeaks (1990).
