Setting aside the #Meloni #Trump affair (see https://apnews.com/article/trump-meloni-italy-us-36d6452879d0d61983802c036cdb7835), an unsettling parallel emerges between the press in #Italy and #Russia, in both cases instrumentally subservient.
Months ago, a critical comment by Meloni about #Putin triggered a composed reaction from the #Kremlin, but vulgar insults from lackey #Solovyev. Now that the criticism comes from Trump toward Meloni? A similarly composed reaction from Rome, a similar lackey—though Italian—similar vulgarity in the insults.
