On to another 3 months of running actively malicious software because my school won't supply Linux instructions for the VPN. I've been spending a lot of time getting into #boots and particularly #workwear and #servicewear and fell in love with Thursday Boot Company only to recently learn that they're co-founder is aggressively anti-abortion and donated to Super PACs that actively helped turn over Roe v Wade.
Needless to say I'm pretty crushed, I only own one pair of Thursday but it will be my last and I cannot wait to have its sole replaced and logo removed after a few years.
I've not looked into the politics of other boot brands but a big contender to replace Thursday for me is #NPS #Solovair . while their construction isn't up to the same 'quality' components found in Thursday, if you like the punk and adjacent look of Dr Martens they are of course, the original makers of that storied boot! (Not to mention the Solovair Derby 8 eye in gaucho leather was the first pair of boot I've ever owned)
Also the rest of their offerings are pretty fantastic.

Vers novembre, ma paire de #docmartens a rendu l'âme dans un arrachage de semelle incontrôlé (dans le train, joie bonheur...)
Au bout de 3 ans un truc du genre.
Furax j'étais. Déso mais moi une paire à 200 balles qui fait 3 ans je dis non.
J'ai tenté #solovair
200 balles aussi. Fabriquée à l'ancienne usine Doc en Angleterre.
Là ça fait 6 mois.
Comparaison avec la paire de docs qui me reste. Des sandales. Portées elles aussi environ 6 mois. -

Just spoiled myself with a late Xmas gift and got me a pair of #Solovair. Outstanding quality and so good to see folks handling everything with respect for their trade and its history.

Suite à la désagrégation précoce de plusieurs paires, la dernière en date ayant rendu l'âme dans une explosion de semelle spectaculaire au bout de 4 ans, j'ai écouté ce léger chuchottis sur le net.L'ancienne usine doc en Angleterre fonctionne toujours. Ils commercialisent sous un autre nom : #solovair
J'ai reçu hier une paire et j'ai eu l'impression d'être projetée 25 ans en arrière en les mettant. Bon oui je sais, je vais morfler...
