#Solotober Days 27 & 28: Still no games…
Day 29 though: #Hunted Mining Colony 415 (by Gabe Barrett)!
I’ve been too busy to get many #boardgames into my schedule, but I did squeeze in this play yesterday! Mining Colony 415 is about 80% similar to its Hunted sibling, Kobayashi Tower, but the dexterity aspect streamlines the gameplay with a fun twist. I lost this game though by running out of time and by getting slain by an alien. Totally metal!

#Solotober Day 24: #AgentDecker!
Really neat little solo game about infiltrating buildings, collecting information, and avoiding getting caught! It reminds me a bit of the Legendary Encounter games actually, but it definitely has its own flavor and challenge.

#Solotober Day 23: #Witchcraft!
Witchcraft is the excellent retheme/revamp of #Resist! It retains the basic gameplay of assigning hidden or revealed cards to tackle a challenge, but the big change here is that successfully completing challenges sways jurors to your favor, which is a necessary condition to win the game (and to end the witch hunt).

#Solotober Day 22: #Crystallo!
It would seem that Crystallo demands a bit more than a small side table for its dynamic gameplay, but I made it work! Managed to trap the dragon and collect a few treasures, earning the subpar but heroic “Impoverished Vanquisher” title. Makes for a great solo experience if you’ve got a bit of table space!

#Solotober Day 18: #Sagrada!
Another busy day, another digital game! The Sagrada app is excellent for quick plays, and Sagrada itself has proven pretty challenging to get a high score at, especially in solo mode. This “-28” that I got was my best out of 3 games unfortunately, haha.

#Solotober Day 16: Freaky Frogs From Outaspace!
Here’s a really neat little #FriedemannFriese game where you play pinball! With cards! Each time I come back I need to take a couple mental notes about where the “ball” goes next after each card, but it’s easy enough to pick up. Like real pinball, I’m a bit terrible at it, but I really enjoy the gameplay!

#Solotober Day 12: #PalmIsland (another busy day, another small game)!
I quite enjoy these small in-hand games (this and Dragons of Etchinstone are my two faves at the moment). Here my resource planning needed work, and I was left with all this fish and wood at the end (final score of 26).

So, jetzt hab ich in der zweiten Partie wohl alles richtig gemacht und hab trotzdem wieder gewonnen gegen Captain Decon im Solospiel.

Es hat Spaß gemacht und ich freu mich auf die erste Partie mit echten Mitspielenden.

Ich würde es im Bereich gehobenes Familienspiel einordnen. Wenn die Kinder die ersten Tauchgänge hinter sich haben und sich für Tauchen und Riffe begeistern können, dann werden alle Spaß an dem Spiel haben.

Für die Spielprofis ist es nicht komplex genug.

Ich würde es irgendwie anders gestalten, das Tauchen und die Unterwasserwelt kommen mir optisch zu kurz.

Darf es bleiben? Na klar, in einem Taucher und Brettspielerhaushalt hat es seinen festen Platz.

Ach ja, es hat im Solospiel gut 1,5 Stunden gedauert. Dürfte mit 3 oder 4 Spielenden recht lang werden. Aber Riff-Rettung dauert halt.

Selbst auf meiem 175*95er Tisch nimmt es ein gutes Stück Platz ein.

#Solotober Day 7: #ParkLife!
Park Life is a new #tricktaking game by Dylan Coyle that is lightly themed around street vendors selling wares to park visitors.

I love the modern-and-cozy art, and the weather suits. The game has some neat mechanics that spice up the usual trick taking formula, and it’s even got a couple different solo modes. I’m not too skilled with trick takers though, so there have been no wins quite yet…

For the third day of #Solotober, #ThreeSisters!
I honestly thought this was a game about cozy witchcraftery at first, but I’m equally happy about it being a game about backyard farming!

I actually quite like this roll & write: it’s got satisfying combos, a rondel reminiscent of Red Cathedral, and, of course, a homey theme (that makes me want to finally do something with my own yard).
