Child's a bit unsettled and I'm #SoloParenting so I'm going to skip streaming tonight. A bit torn between living my life and being a responsible parent; I could probably get away with streaming but she's young I think it's important to be there for her if I'm needed.

Am coping. I was on YOLO mode this evening, I didn't want to deal with the bickering so plopped the kids down in front of a feature-length Octonauts (ring of fire, though I personally prefer the great barrier reef) with a bowl of popcorn each.
It also meant dinner could be smaller, so we managed to clear away a bunch of leftovers instead of having to cook something from new.

Look, I agreed to quit the best job I’ve ever had, leave my beloved #Durham, move across an ocean, spend my mornings shepherding my kids as they get ready for school, spend my days grocery shopping and spend my evenings cooking dinner…
But I did NOT agree to have to learn how to use a flat iron to do my 14 year old’s bangs and THEN spend 30 minutes untangling huge knotted masses of hair on my 10 year old’s head while I’m #SoloParenting for the week because my wife is back in the US!
