I've played R.A.V.E.L. more than 10 times and still can't beat it with 4 high-difficulty cards added. This quick solo dice puzzle is clever and addictive. You manipulate 8 dice on a grid to solve Cog cards using gear tokens. Setup takes minutes, gameplay is 10 minutes, but the strategic depth is surprising. Perfect pocket game for trips.

I recommend picking up some of Jason's other games while you are at it. His art is fantastic, and the games are well designed and easy to understand.

One note: the #boardgame mat isn't required. The mat is often REALLY handy, but it pushes the shipping cost up into a more expensive category. So if funds are tight, removing the mat saves $45.

I loved the story of Robinson Crusoe when I was a kid. Playing the solo #boardgame 'Friday' from Rio Grande Games however, has made me hate the character Robinson with a blinding passion. He's so frustrating!!!
