A memory of cold for #TravelThursday and this is the Sólheimajökull glacier in southern Iceland which we visited in 2018. We've seen glaciers in four countries across three continents now. Catch 'em while you can.

Of sun and ice.
This glacier is the Sólheimajökull, which translates roughly to "the Home of the Sun Glacier".

First set of photos from the camera from Iceland trip. Also first Mastodon post. Shapes and colours of Sólheimajökull glacier. This was definitely one of the highlights, our guide was really informative and explained a lot about how the local volcanoes (mostly Hekla but also the more recently active Eyjafjallajökull) are seen in the glacial landscape.

Third and final #TravelPhotography post from #OnThisDay in 2018 when we toured the south coast of #Iceland. The first two photos are from the #Sólheimajökull #Glacier while the final shot is from a stop at #Seljalandsfoss #Waterfall as we started to head back to our hotel in Reykjavík. There is a walkway around the back of the waterfall but as you can see it was all iced over and far too dangerous to risk on this occasion.
