… as the 27 y/o midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain is keen to join #WHUFC.
But to proceed in negotiations West Ham need more offloads. Soler informed. Deal stalling at this stage.

The #Giants traded #Soler to the #Braves at the deadline & I'm not surprised because, until recently, Soler has sorely underperformed, hitting only 12 HRs (Chapman & rookie Ramos have 15 each) w/a BA of only .240 with 82 hits & 78 Ks (which, if you needed an interpretation) means he hit only barely more than he struck out. 🤷♂️
The Giants save around $30M making the trade and with Fitz tearing up the bases & other rookies & vets to take on the load, there didn't seem any good reason to keep Soler in the lineup just to hit when he wasn't doing much of that. Rumor is that the Giants may call back up Luciano, who can hit but not field well, to fill that spot.
Of course, after Soler hooks up w/the Braves, he'll probably get HOT but that's always the way it seems to happen for the Giants. LOL! . . . 🤷♂️
At least they got "something" -- a LH reliever -- in exchange for Luke Jackson (a RH reliever) for a push plus a minor league prospect -- & can cut loose that big contract in the process. 😉

I know we're only 3 games into the 2024 Regular Season but the pick up of #Chapman & #JHLee seems to be really paying off but the #Soler pick, not so much. 🤷♂️
In Spring Training (ST), Chapman batted .281 w/a .878 OPS & 2 HRs based on 32 ABs & in 1st 3 games of the Regular Season (RS), he's batting .357 w/a 1.214 OPS & 2 HRs based on 14 ABs.
In ST, JH Lee batted .333 w/a .887 OPS & 1 HR based on 36 ABs & in the 1st 3 games of the RS, he's batting .333 w/a .886 OPS & 1 HR based on 12 ABs.
On the other hand, in ST, Soler (who's only used as a DH) batted .286 w/a .733 OPS and NO HRs based on 42 ABs & in the 1st 3 games of the RS, he's batting .167 w/a .536 OPS and NO HRs in 12 ABs & it was really ANNOYING to see him hit into 2 DPs the other day with RISP.
So, my question is: What's "wrong" with Soler?" 🤔
When I've watched him batting, he just watches pitches thrown right down the middle & swings & misses on 💩 thrown way off the plate.
He hit 1 long ball last night but WTF??? 🤷♂️
