A look into the “GREGOR Observations Center” GOC at MPS Göttingen during this month’s remote campaign at the GREGOR Solar Telescope, located on Tenerife. Many great active regions and sunspots, but unfortunately clouds obstructed our view. Hoping for better conditions for our August campaign together with Solar Orbiter 🛰️ 🔭🤞

#ParkerSolarProbe was in the right place at the right time in September 2022: It passed through a magnetic reconnection region in the Sun's corona. #SolarOrbiter observed the event from a distance. Study led by #SwRI in @NatureAstronomy

[#Eclipse of April 8, 2024] Here are a few shots of the #Sun eclipse of April 8 over the North American continent.
The #photosphere, a few coronal mass ejections and various (dark-colored) spots scattered across the surface reveal our Sun's current activity. Maximum expected in 2025! Our instruments - aboard the #SolarOrbiter probe and installed at the #PicduMidi Observatory - are ready!
