  1. A couple days late to this, but this was our experience of the #SolarEclipse on the 12th. Heads up, it’s at 4x speed. Too cloudy to see the actual eclipse, but it suddenly becoming night (and darker than the entire rest of the time we were there) was amazing.

Good trip! A couple of my friends and I decided to use this as an excuse to go hang out in Iceland.

  3. I have just reviewed all of the photos that I took in Bilbao on Wednesday of the solar eclipse. I have two or three beauties showing the corona at totality, but failed miserably at capturing a photograph of the diamond ring. I will post them on here eventually, but I am currently experiencing difficulties in connecting my good camera up to a platform to post the photos on the web

  7. I was in Almazán, Spain for the eclipse and I got some great footage with our two Blackmagic 17K cameras on a solar tracker. These are some stills I pulled from the low resolution proxy while I’m waiting for the full 17K resolution to offload from the camera.

Stay tuned, I’m hoping to have a video ready soon.

  9. If you can still see this comic strip, you had good eye protection. (Or you just weren't watching the eclipse) 🌘

  11. For the #solareclipse, I went a little out of my routine and traveled to the czech-german borders to see it from the tower of Starý Herštejn castle ruin. #eclipse #photo #partialeclipse #clouds

  13. What an amazing #SolarEclipse we witnessed this week! I photographed it from Peñafiel in the north of #Spain, home to a beautiful castle that provided the perfect foreground for the spectacular #eclipse. No picture can do it justice though: there's no substitute to actually seeing a total eclipse in person.

  17. Earlier, about 10 to 8.

The sky still looked normal but the landscape below already felt Too Dark, lighting strange, and the temperature dropping.

  19. I didn't have eclipse glasses, so was just watching on my phone and camera screens - the lens flare artifact showed the slowly eclipsing sun!

(My neighbours showed up near the peak, and they HAD eclipse glasses!

They were kind enough to share..

  21. Once again - the partial #solareclipse was a great opportunity for a picnic in the vineyards and sketching people.
I tried to do several quick sketches.
A woman asked me why I was drawing instead of watching the solar eclipse. I told her about #urbansketching and that I was practicing drawing people and thought this was a great opportunity.
(And in between, I kept glancing at the sun.😉)

  23. I saw the #solareclipse of August 2026 from #Drachenberg in #Berlin, with about 80 percent #coverage. If an observer, like myself, is situated in the Moon's #penumbra rather than its #umbra, they see a #partial solar eclipse. L. A. Aguilar et al. (2025) showed that many of the #birds studied responded to the solar eclipse with #dawnlike #singing.
