Looking at the European Citizens’ Initiative for a “Ban on conversion practices in the European Union.” I don’t understand what this part means, and sort of wonder if the organizers do:

What moratorium is that? How do you “enforce” a non-binding resolution?

Since the UCP took power they have pushed the idea that acknowledging the existence of LGBTQ+ people is "inappropriate" for minors to hear about. This next round of legislations from Smith's government will make teachers fear that they are breaking the law if they acknowledge such people. Creating such ignorance in our youth is deadly, and will cost many their lives. I am devastated by what is happening in this Province.

“We’re here to tell people that there’s only two genders,” said Juha, a Grade 8 student.
“To tell people that LGBTQ is bad,” said Juyoung, a Grade 5 student."
And they claim we indoctrinate. These are words their parents taught them to say on a subject that has never had any impact on them.

A dozen #teachers from the #GreaterVictoriaTeachersAssociation are expected to show up for a #rally supporting the #LGBTQ+ community at the #BClegislature on Friday.
The rally is one of a series of events across #Canada that day to counter what local organizers from the groups #1MillionVoicesForInclusion and Finn’s Future call the “transphobic rhetoric” of a previous 1 Million March for Children, which opposes teaching on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity or #SOGI in schools.
The teachers will be advocating for SOGI education prior to the noon #Celebration of #QueerExistence rally.
SOGI in schools has generated protests in #BritishColumbia which #GVTA president Carolyn Howe said was part of the reason the #BCgovernment recently brought in rules to keep protesters off school grounds.
She said she doesn’t know of any such protests at local schools, but noted there has been “a worrying uptick in very vocal opposition to -inclusive practices around #GenderDiversity, both in schools and in the wider community.”
“Victoria schools have #queer staff, parents, students and we want everyone in the #2sLGTBQIA+ community to know we stand together.”

Got to present my work on #geography methods for access to #genderaffirmingcare in Texas
Chaired/organized two panels on #SOGI #demography that were standing room only (like 50-75 people!)
Met a bunch of new colleagues and friends
and now there's talk of a #queer #trans demography affinity group :transgender_flag: :nonbinary_flag: :progress_pride: :bisexual_flag: 🥰
