  1. US Agencies Embrace DevSecOps with Shift-Left Approach

The US Army's Acting CIO, Gabe Chiulli, is leading the charge to revolutionize software delivery by embracing a shift-left approach to DevSecOps, aiming to merge commercial speed with government security needs. By setting a new framework, Chiulli is paving the way for industry collaboration and rapid innovation.

  2. Shift-left & DevOps have accelerated software delivery - but also increased cognitive load and duplicated effort across testing, security, and maintenance.

John Keates explores how to rightsize developer platforms and align them with engineering culture to reduce cognitive load and deliver change faster.

  3. What if every Git branch came with a full clone of your production environment: code, data, and services included?

That is what Upsun's preview environments do. And it is one of the capabilities independently mapped in the IDC ProductScape: Worldwide Cloud Deployment–Centric Application Platforms, 2026.

  4. Are your AI budgets skyrocketing while your actual software delivery throughput stays flat? You're not alone.

In this #InfoQ presentation, Lizzie Matusov (CEO & Co-founder of Quotient) explains why AI is improving individual productivity but not organizational outcomes.

💡 Learn the 5 Stages of #AIMaturity and how to eliminate bottlenecks across the SDLC.

  5. The AI paradox:
⇨ 78% of developers are coding faster with AI, but software delivery hasn't accelerated.

Why? Review bottlenecks, governance, and traceability aren't keeping pace.

GitLab's 2026 AI Accountability Report breaks down the gap.

  7. Cheap tokens make for nice slides. They do not ship software.

I wrote about the AI coding break-even point that matters in enterprise teams: the crossover is usually review, repair, security, and rollout work, not the raw token bill.

Modern engineering teams are collapsing under platform complexity, AI chaos, organizational scaling failures, and unreliable architectures. This deep technical leadership guide explains how elite engineering leaders manage platform rewrites, reliability crises, organizational chaos, and large-scale modernization without destroying delivery velocity. #SoftwareArchitecture #EngineeringManagement #DevOps #CloudComputing #Leadership

  9. AI adoption dashboards can tell you who used the tool. They cannot tell you whether software delivery got better.

The real shift is not token burn or prompt volume. It is whether agents improve the SDLC: specs, tests, review evidence, release gates, operations, and learning.

  10. The 2025 DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) report - State of AI-Assisted Software Development - shows that #AI doesn’t automatically improve #SoftwareDelivery performance.

    It amplifies what’s already there:
    • Strong teams ⇨ faster & better
    • Weak processes ⇨ exposed & amplified

AI is a multiplier, not a solution!

  11. Today I got to use my Flow Physics page in a real meeting — and it did exactly what I built it for: make “flow” tangible.

Instead of debating opinions, we walked through interactive examples (WIP, bottlenecks, Little’s Law, resource vs. flow efficiency) and the system basically explained itself.

If you ever need a fast, visual way to align people on delivery flow, here it is:

  12. AI is reshaping workflows faster than organizations can adjust. Boundaries across the SDLC are collapsing, exposing the limits of top-down control.

Together with Dave Sammut, we’re mapping these early signals and their implications for service design and adaptability.

Reversibility of decisions might be the key to resilience. You can read more here: joaorosa.consulting/2026/01/30

  13. We measure how fast we deliver. But we rarely measure how fast we correct. Many systems look fast on paper: short cycle times, frequent releases, busy pipelines.

And yet, the same problems persist for weeks or months. Why Because delivery speed only tells you how fast work moves forward. It tells you nothing about how fast feedback actually changes work.

This is the blind spot I call Feedback Response Time.

  14. Stop chasing "Agility." Your business needs to deliver, and your system is failing you.

I recently spoke with a Team Lead—a pragmatist who hates "agile theatre." He told me: "I've started doing the Story QA myself again because the team keeps missing things."

Most organizations call this an "accountability issue." I call it a failure of System Physics.

  15. 🤔💡Ah, yes, let's dust off Extreme Programming like a vintage vinyl in the AI era, because clearly what we need is more pair programming to keep up with Skynet. 😂🎧🚀 Maybe next up: revisiting floppy disks for data storage to really jazz up software delivery! 📀🤖

  18. 🤖✨ Ah yes, the future of software delivery: unleashing a swarm of "agents" to ship your half-baked apps using a magical API that does everything but tuck you into bed. Because clearly, what was missing in the world was even more apps nobody asked for, delivered by a code-writing #chatbot on an all-you-can-eat database buffet. 🍽️📦
