This is peak #SoCraTesUK : I have just been to a bell ringing session, where we explored algorithms, error handling and the definition of done.

And I'm now chilling in the beautiful garden when there's a wedding going on :)

#SoCraTesUK is being invaded by a wedding. Again.

They keep asking us not to disrupt the wedding - but there doesn't seem to be any briefing for the wedding guests.

I have started travelling to #SoCraTesUK, which starts tomorrow!

Intrigued to see what this year brings, looking forward to seeing friends and meeting new folks.

And relieved it's finally here after some time planning it :D

#SoCraTesUK 2025 is happening in a little over a week, on 29th May - 1st June, once again at Milton Hill House Hotel near Oxford.

Come join a group of software crafters to talk and learn about all aspects of our craft. Because SoCraTes UK is an unconference, the agenda for each day is chosen by us, the participants, each morning.

I help organise a tech conference which is in 3 weeks, and we still have a couple places.

It's pretty neat, if I may say so, because all participants can propose sessions and I always learn loads and meet amazing people.

Last week I went to a great Software Unconference near Oxford ( #SocratesUK ), very open theme and thus a fascinating mix of people- and tech-related discussions & presentations with a great crowd.

End of a great session on "What to do until retirement" by @rradczewski at #SoCraTesUK

Very neat age range of people who had seen many boom/bust cycles.

My take-aways: this cycle feels different but also highlight of learning: focus on your strengths (or a few weaknesses to improve) and become very good at a few things: there will be demand for that.
Also: find your sufficiency.
