#Socktober socks pair 3 finished just in time.

The yarn looks and feels very nice, I really do hope it holds up to wear and washing on a regular basis.

Pattern is "Wood Nymph Socks", a free pattern on Ravelry

I switched out heel and toe for my preferred variants and I made the stitch pattern one stitch wider so the purl stitch from the cuff did line up with the pattern.

One day left for #Socktober .

I've knit a whole sock in a day before - I'm not sure I'll manage this time, but we will see ...

I'm using a new to me sock yarn blend, 80% wool, 20% linen. The linen is the white "fluff" sticking partially out.

M'n mooie spie, versterkte hiel met geinig relief patroontje, en dat fijne, strakke boord. 🤩
Helemaal heppie de peppie! En dat de teen een kwartslag gedraaid zit, is dan maar nauwelijks een minpuntje.

A pretty simple stitch pattern, a really nice yarn (75% merino, 25% nylon), that feels rather substantial and is pretty different from the usual sock yarns, very matte.

I'm curious, how well it will stand up to use and washing.

A start and finish for this year’s #FinishOrFrogAlong. Cat love socks with John Arbon Exmoor sock in Mizzle and Bibble Bug.

I had to seriously colour correct to get closer to the pinky-purple of both yarns. Phone took it as grey and brown!

I do prefer to knit toe up, most definitely. This was much less fun, although, first ever colour work.

A handdyed blend of 75% wool, 25% nylon, but the wool is #BFL or Bluefaced Leicester. I like that breed for spinning, as it's nearly as soft as merino, but with a longer staple and because of that it has a bit more luster and is a bit sturdier. In theory. But you don't find much yarn made from it

Ik vond de tip om de eerste #averechte steek van het #boord van m'n #sok andersom te breien, en dat heeft zeker een positief effect op hoe netjes het er aan de buitenkant (1) uitziet, ook uitgerekt (3)!
Aan de binnenkant (2) is het nu ietsje losser, maar nog steeds redelijk. En ach, ik sla m'n sokken eigenlijk nooit om.

Vanwege #Socktober kijk ik filmpjes over #naaldbinden. Oogt overzichtelijk. Misschien leuk voor mijn alpacawol?

Week 1 of #socktober check in: I learned from Stephanie Pearl-McPhee that if you do 20 rounds daily, you will have a pair of socks at the end of the month, no matter the size. Seems she’s right as usual. Snuggly (3mm needles) is already half done, Bumbly (2.25mm) is into the first foot.

After doing #finishOrFrogAlong last month and now another “challenge” I think I will do a LOT of random things next month.

In honor of #socktober, here’s the closest thing I’ve done to a sock. My then-almost-2-year-old was obsessed with ducks at the time. The white yarn was from my stash and in retrospect too thick-thin for colorwork, but I still think it turned out pretty cute. 🦆

Second pair of #Socktober socks cast on.

I bought a range of new to me blends of sock yarn earlier this year and now I'm going to work through them to establish how well they knit up, wear and wash.

This is a blend with Bluefaced Leicester, probably the Signature 4ply from West Yorkshire Spinners.

Very slick, nice to knit, relatively thin, so a tighter gauge than usual. And a very unexpected striping pattern.

Voor het eerst een versterkte hiel, en voor het eerst met Regia Pairfect, wat niet echt berekend blijkt te zijn op maat 46.
Daar had ik al op gerekend, en een bolletje off white erbij gezocht wat ik bij de tevens witte hiel kon toevoegen, maar daar heb ik vervolgens niet meer aan gedacht, waardoor het (licht) blauw wat laag begint. Daarom maar spiralen met een restje van een ander blauw self striping garen, om in ieder geval genoeg te hebben voor het been.

Progress on the first pair of #Socktober socks.

It's interesting, how the colors change through the skein. I don't mind this - it is kind of "chaotic" dyed. I just didn't expect it from the look of the skein and cake.
