I keep asking myself the question of what I would do to stand up against #fasicsm and other #socialrights issues when I would really have to suffer real consequences from my actions.
Frankly, I do not know the answer. I would love to be able to wholeheartedly answer: to hell with consequences. But I can't. I'm not sure. I can try. So far my track record is not very shiny. Maybe it's time to prepare myself. And maybe thinking about it and being honest to myself is the first step.
In December a new European Commission will take office. Under the slogan of #competitiveness, they see it as their priority to hack away at public interest rules – from social rights to the environmental protections – that corporations and lobbies consider too ‘inhibiting’.
