In other 'Merican health care adventures, I have learned that my prescriptions have fallen into what the insurance company calls "the donut hole," and I'll be responsible for 25% of my pharmacy co-pays in the future. Which dings me for over $1000 additional out-of-pocket between now and end-of-year. 'Merican "staying alive" payments and red-tape are AWESOME! Thanks, Republicans!

Today I am grateful for
1) a warm dog on my lap,
2) the privilege to age with my best friend and partner,
3) a comfortable, safe place to live,
4) a good cup of coffee,

Recently paid a friend a visit. She had to be warded at the public #hospital for cancer treatments. Guess how much she had to pay for a night?
RM3. That's about 60 cents in US$. It was a very basic, shared space. But she is receiving treatment because her insurance will not cover the treatments. I am ever so grateful for universal #healthcare in #Malaysia. -
Still in hospital. It’s been over a week, for something (laminectomies) that was only supposed to be 2 to 3 days. However, I have received very good care and do not have to pay for one penny of it. ...why? I always hear stories about people in countries with "#socializedmedicine" where they broke an ankle and ended up paying $10 for the taxi ride or whatever.
