  1. On the subject of anti-social networks: I organize a free, fun, social bike ride in my home town. Today, I posted two things on NextDoor.com to get the word out with my neighbors: 1 - an event announcing our next ride, and 2 - a post doing the same thing (because I fear not everyone reviews the event list.

I came back a while later, and someone has posted a negative comment, basically blaming cyclists for all the ills of the world ans also reported my posts as Spam, which immediately took them offline. I have to assume one person did both things.

Thanks very little to the neighbor who did this. Instead of messaging me, you made me waste time posting things nobody will see now. 😑 ND.com offers an appeals process but we'll see how that works next...

  6. Blog post: Why I started a social cycling group

In 2025, I started a casual cycling group called Highlands Ranch Social Cycle, for people who like to ride slowly, socialize, and relax outdoors on bikes. We ride around my home town and we stop whenever we want, visiting coffee shops and farmer’s markets and so on. As the new year starts now, I want to take a minute here to remind myself why I started this group. [...]
