Excellent to see a new #SocialAudio service emerge that lets you do a TwitterSpaces-style audio streaming service via your #Mastodon account. This is one of the big holes I have seen missing in the #TwitterMigration
By its nature this is a *centralized* service… but in reading various comments it looks like you CAN self-host this “Audon” software, which means there are ways to decentralize this.

For those of us who like live audio conversations and events, TwitterSpaces has many outstanding features. I've become a huge fan.

One thing I have not yet seen in the Fediverse is the large-scale live #audio streaming like #TwitterSpaces or Clubhouse or Spotify Live (aka #SocialAudio ).
Right now over on birdsite, I am listening to a Space along with *34,000* other people!
This obviously takes serious infrastructure that can scale.

Very disappointed to hear that many (perhaps ALL?) of the Twitter Spaces team was part of the mass layoff last Friday.
I very much enjoyed using (and hosting) Spaces and thought it was a remarkable #SocialAudio offering.
The question is... NOW WHAT?
Can we rely on Twitter Spaces to be around? Or is that dying? Is there a future for it?
Should we start using another social audio offering such as Reddit Talk? (Given that Clubhouse seems to be fading.)
