  1. At tonight's #MetroLosAngeles Westside & Central Service Council meeting at 6:00 PM, on our agenda is Metro's Mobility Plan for the 2028 Olympics.

Also on the agenda is the Link Union Station project which will enable "run-through" service at Union Station. The Link US project is as important to Southern California #metrolink regional and #Amtrak intercity rail as the "downtown connector" was to Metrorail transit. Details at metro.net/calendar/westside-ce.

It is always heartening to see cities in Southern California fight FOR transit projects rather than fight against them.

  13. This is really interesting. A “mobility wallet” pilot program is giving South L.A. residents $150 per month to spend on a menu of transportation options. And early data is in.

The money can be used to take the bus, ride the train, rent a shared e-scooter, take micro-transit, rent a car-share, take an Uber or Lyft, or even purchase an e-bike — but they can’t be spent on the cost of owning or operating a car.

  17. Streetsblog is making good points here. If #MetroLosAngekes is going to continue #microtransit, it needs to rethink the whole program.

Perhaps Microtransjt should be redesigned around getting people to/from Metrorail, Metroliner, and Metrolink stations, and perhaps the 23 big transit transfer centers in low service areas.

What do you think about MicroTransit?

  18. I'm not sold on Microtransit as the best use of scarce Metro dollars.

Who doesn't like the idea of a $1 Uber? I get why the riders who use it like it.

But with Metro paying $43 dollars a ride, and with transit operating dollars so scarce, I just cannot help but wonder.

Only 19% of its users take it to get to transit lines. Should we restrict use to get to/from Metro/Metrolink stations?

  19. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but two bunched buses coming along after a 24 minute wait in the cold does not average out to 12 minute headways, it is still a 24 minute experience. #LosAngeles needs bus lanes all over the county. #MetroLosAngeles #LADOT. #transit #socaltransit
