  1. I noticed a desperate cry for a lighthouse in my timeline 👋🏼, so here is the Svörtuloft Lighthouse in Iceland.

The road to it is beautiful and in a terrible condition, however easier with the snow filling the potholes. Except, a massive snowdrift blocked the road, I could even hardly turn the car (cliffs on one side, rocks on the other).

Happy with my 30x zoom. 😉

  3. Iceland, boats near Stykkishólmur in March 2020.

For some reason, the beautiful town did not resonate with me. So I have to give it a second chance.

Which is by the way also an excuse to go again…and again….and again… Right? 😇

  5. Along the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Iceland, two impressive sea stacks emerge from the terrain. These are the Lóndrangar formations, ancient volcanic basalt structures that soar up to 75 meters high. They are often described as a natural rocky castle along Iceland’s coast.

  6. Rugged Coastline of Arnarstapi Iceland by Debra Martz
Arnarstapi's coastline beauty lies in the rugged coastline of lava formations and basalt columns easily viewed from a shoreline hiking trail. This part of the shoreline has been a natural reserve since 1979.

  7. An old shot from my first Iceland trip, but still one of my favorites, it reminds me what “my Iceland” is all about: the empty spaces #iceland #snaefellsnes #landscape #t3mujin_featured View this post on Instagram A post shared by João Pedro Almeida (@t3mujin)

From my first Iceland trip, a long time ago. Not a photo to write home about, but nice enough to make me realize the reason I went there (those dreamy landscape shots) might not be my cup of tea, after all. instagram.com/p/BFTrFJECs9N/?i

  8. For #MeerMittwoch this is the stone bridge on the coast at Arnarstapi, part of the incredibly beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. If you like your landscapes then this is the place to come and visit.

  9. Last year was the third time we've visited #Iceland but the first time hitting anywhere north of the capital. This is from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and we'd heard it was lovely but this photo doesn't do the #landscape any justice at all. Gorgeous, dramatic views everywhere you looked, and we'd eagerly visit it again.

  10. I'm sure I've already posted a photo of #Buðakirkja, the black #church at #Buðir in #Snaefellsnes peninsula, West #Iceland, but I took photos of it pretty much every trip so here's another one from another trip to add to the millions other photos of it you can find all over the Internet.

  11. We've been to #Arnarstapi in #Snaefellsnes peninsula, West #Iceland twice in two different trips and every time we were there, the sea was wild like this. I loved it! What's not to love about a raging sea when you're not on or in it? I could've watched the waves crashing against the cliff all day. Too bad we had other things to see and places to go.

  12. You've probably seen a lot of photos of people standing on the natural bridge in #Arnarstapi, but have you seen one taken by someone standing on the natural bridge? Well, now you have. 😀 I think the #mountain in the background is called #Stapafell and the basalt cave/bore hole under the natural bridge #Eystrigjá. Arnarstapi is located in the southern coast of #Snaefellsnes peninsula, one of my favourite places in #Iceland.

  13. Met this beautiful Icelandic horse at a horse farm in #Snaefellsnes where we stayed for three nights. I love staying at horse farms in #Iceland because you're usually given the permission to roam and interact with the horses freely. This particular farm not only has beautiful horses but also stunning views. Great place to stay for photography.

  14. #Buðakirkja, the black church at #Buðir on the south coast of #Snaefellsnes peninsula, is one of the most photographed buildings in #Iceland. I personally prefer the beautiful beach nearby to the church, but that's just me.

  15. The coast of #Arnarstapi is in #Snaefellsnes peninsula is one of my most favourite parts of #Iceland. I could watch the crashing waves from the top of the cliffs all day!

  16. Svöðufoss in #Snaefellsnes peninsula was one of the new-to-us #Iceland attractions we visited this year. There was a boardwalk that we thought would lead us to the base of the #waterfall but we thought wrong. It only took us to a bench where you could view the waterfall from afar. It's still a beautiful sight with the towering Mount #Snaefellsjokull and its glacier in the background.

  17. A short walk away from Selvallafoss (christened as Sheep's waterfall on Google Maps) in #Snaefellsnes peninsula, West #Iceland, is this beautiful green lake with moss covered lava field and mountains or hills in the background. A geologist told me that the lake used to be a river dammed by the lava. It must've happened many, many years ago. This was taken in October 2017. We went back here this year in May and the midges in this area were fierce!
