Heute ging es weiter. Einmal quer durch #Dänemark und dabei über #Storebelt und #Øresund nach #Schweden , genauer #Solhejdan .
Das #Smørrebrød hat es meinen Zweibeinern angetan. Mit ordentlich Remoulade und eingelegten Gürkchen. Die mussten deshalb sogar zwei mal Rast machen, die beiden Fressjacken.
Meine rote Reisebegleitung fand auch mit mir im Schlepp problemlos ein Plätzchen zum Laden. Schon seltsam was geht, wenn man Gespanne beim Laden mit plant.

I received some #GoodNews today! Even though we're pretty good at a lot of things in #Denmark, handling #immigration in a respectful and timely manner isn't always one of them. Today though, my wife of 16 years was finally informed that she will be included in the next citizenship proposal presented to the parliament in October. If the proposal passes - which is always does - she will be granted permanent Danish citizenship! 🇩🇰
Obviously I suggested that we'd do something extraordinarily Danish to celebrate, but I'm still looking for input. So far I'm stuck at #smørrebrød, being unhappy about the weather - rain or shine - or something revolving around #licorice, although I expect her lack of fondness for this delightful sweet will remain unchanged by her new citizenship.

A special birthday lunch at Kantine in #SanFrancisco . A trout and a pork #smorrebrod open face #sandwhiches, black current ice tea and almond croissant for dessert.
I've been wanting to go to this restaurant since they opened during the pandemic, following them online while they were just doing pop-ups.
The food was tasty, and really really really really pretty to look at. The space was clean and simple, in earth tones. A bit noisy.
Definitely a place for a special meal.

Und was haben wir heute Schönes geknuspert? Scottish Oatcakes. Quasi seit der Römerzeit der praktische und gesunde Snack mit Zutaten aus dem Vorrat: Haferflocken, Salz, Öl, etwas Backpulver und Wasser. (Swipe für die Zutaten) Heraus kommt eine Art Haferknäckebrot. Sehr lecker und sehr hübsch belegbar - wenn eins das ein wenig mehr fancy macht, dann ist das quasi das schottische Äquivalent zu #Smørrebrød. Ich meine mich zu erinnern, dass ich in einem kleinen Restaurant in Inverness auch so serviert bekommen habe. Irgendwas mit Räucherlachs, Leberpastete, Grünzeug und Preiselbeeren. Anyway - die Oatcakes heute waren jedenfalls sehr gut, wenn auch sehr bröselig in der Herstellung, und perfekt für meine #VorratskammerChallenge. 😊 Noch eins, zwei Mal Testbacken und dann darf das Rezept sehr gerne im magischen Kessel einziehen und euch erfreuen! Ich hoffe ihr habt Lust darauf.
