Ooo! I found and ordered a "Letter Gothic" typeface printwheel for my charcoal grey /black #SmithCorona #typewriter. I will have a #gothwriter soon.

I can justify buying this because:
1. Nice retro 60's-80's attaché case
2. Local pickup
3. Cheap
4. Supporting a charity.
5. Oh, there's a typewriter inside!Smith Corona Classic 12. Made in Canada.
The two black keys are 'changeable type' as the slugs can be swapped for different characters, although this one has a fairly standard 1/! and +/=
It's not a big typewriter, but it's a hefty chunk of metal, approx. 9.5KG (21lbs) with the case.

Irked by the overinflated prices on Ebay for typewriters, I’ve been casting about for other sources of reasonably priced machines to purchase. Today I purchased two I saw at auction:
- Smith-Corona Classic 12 in metallic green for $18.00
- 1969 Smith-Corona Galaxie Deluxe in steel blue for $23.00
Both appear to be in good shape and functional though one is going to need some reasonable cleaning and repair of a few linkages. I can’t wait for them to ship to see what I’ve got. They both look like a lot of fun…

It works! I’m able to use the #SmithCorona #typewriter as a #teletype and dial into the #BBS! Need to do some work on the firmware but it’s nice to move off the breadboard where I was worried about bumping it and everything falling apart.

My least favorite part of designing a circuit board: routing the traces. Always so much spaghetti. Do I use a via here? Do I rip up another trace to make room for this one?
