“The #software you showed running the laser was started by me, grew into a company, and we face some of the same challenges you describe. We get pressured to share customer info, cut prices well below what’s reasonable, promote products we don’t believe in, white-label the software so others can lock their customers into their ecosystem, and more - all of it, to me, falls into the same trap of short term profit at the expense of long term stability.
On the internal side, we pay our employees well, have generous profit sharing, cover medical and 401k with no requirement that the employees contribute, and for that our accountants constantly look at me like I’m an alien.
