Big Brother auf der Nase: #HateAid stellt Strafanzeige gegen #Meta wegen #SmartGlasses
Eine voll funktionsfähige Kamera, die wie eine normale Brille aussieht: HateAid hält den Vertrieb der Meta-Smart-Glasses in Deutschland für strafbar und hat deshalb Strafanzeige gestellt. Die Organisation fordert ein Verkaufsverbot für die Brille „Wayfarer (Gen 2)“ und verbindliche Regeln für Safety by Design, damit Menschen nicht unbemerkt gefilmt werden können.

I recently encountered smart glasses in real life for the first time. I didn't even realise the person was wearing them until they showed me what they could do.
It left me with a difficult question: Would I ask someone to take off their smart glasses before coming into my home for dinner?

Wer sich in der Schweiz schon einmal betätigen will: Campax hat eine Petition gestartet, die ein Verbot von Smart Glasses fordert und der man sich anschliessen kann. Dort wird insbesondere das heimliche Filmen von Frauen und Kindern mit anschliessender Veröffentlichung ohne Zustimmung der Betroffenen thematisiert, beispielsweise in Badis und Umkleidekabinen.

#smartglasses gehören verboten. Der Datenschutz ist nicht gegeben und genauso wenig kontrollierbar. -
A reminder that using those abominable (and soon to be slop machine "enhanced") creep glasses by Meta & Co. will fall within the GDPR's scope in many scenarios. Responsibility and accountability lie with the user, not just with the company.
So if someone you know uses those glasses on you, hit them with a GDPR complaint (not literally, of course - I condemn physical violence even when people did a lot to warrant its use).

A citizen petition has been started to ’restrict the use of smart glasses in municipal buildings and institutions in Aarhus.’ If it gets 1,500 signatures, the city council is required to discuss it.
Core reasons given:
- Citizens could be filmed without knowledge or consent
- Safety; the risk of harassment
- Lack of regulation; ’legislation hasn’t kept up with technology’I wonder if other councils have already done this, in Denmark or elsewhere.

Hamburgs Datenschutzbeauftragter Thomas Fuchs hält ein Verbot der Brillen für realistisch¹, denn sie seien »nichts anderes als getarnte Kameras«, und deren Besitz und Verkauf ist in Deutschland untersagt.

Die @BNetzA interpretiert Gesetze neu. Es wurde die Freigabe für Videoüberwachung im öffentlichen Raum gegeben. Es reicht eine LED.
Also wenn ihr Kamaras auf eurem Grundstück habt, ist es nun erlaubt, dass sie mehr filmen, als nur euer Grundstück. Zum Beispiel vor eurem Hauseingang, Garagenauffahrten oder Hausfluren von Mehrfamilienhäusern.
Es muss nur eine LED leuchten, damit andere Wissen, dass sie gerade aufgenommen werden.
Perfekt.
Wenn also auch ein Perverser mit seiner Kamera in die Fenster der Nachbarin filmt, reicht eine LED.
Danke Bundesnetzagentur für eure "kompetente" Einschätzung 🤷.
