In the midst of prepping canvas for a portrait commission and more fire paintings I remembered I had these little abstracted flame paintings, somewhere. I guess they're "studies", basically fancy talk for "practice" or "seeing what might work".

Another little pepper study with my #JellyGouache paints. Trying a thick-over-thin technique, a bit like you’d use with oils. You can’t go as thick and juicy with gouache, but it’s much cleaner to work with and these #HimiGouache stay nice and vibrant on the paper.
