  1. I live in America and am on Mint Mobile. I am totally blind and use an external keyboard. I own a Galaxy A15, and while it works well, it's simply too large and wide for my needs, especially when I need to hold it to use Seeing AI (for scanning printed materials). My specifications shouldn't be too difficult to find, and yet, they are.

Android 14 or 15. Technically, I can go as low as 12, but I would really rather not.
    Upgradable if possible.
Comes with Talkback pre-installed (or able to have someone install it). I have also heard of MicroG, an alternative to Google services that allows such apps to be installed, so that could work as well.
No larger than the iPhone SE 2022, unless by a tiny amount. Smaller is fine.
    Headphone jack.

I am considering the Jelly Max, the Fonepia Q10, and the Minimal Phone. Has anyone here tried any of these in the United States? I don't think the Max has a headphone jack, but as much as I want one, I would be willing to sacrifice it if necessary. I know almost nothing about the Q10. The Minimal contains a real qwerty keyboard, so I wouldn't need to carry one. I don't care what they do with the screen, since I can't see it.

Am I missing any other good phones? I would like to keep this undder $350 at the most, preferably under $300 (Minimal might cost more, but could be worth it).

  2. Bluefox NX1 is a cheap phone with a 4 inch display

Smartphones with small screens used to be so common that any phone with a display larger than many people labeled phones with 5 inch or larger screens as phablets. But these days it’s hard to find phones with screens smaller* than that.

So it’s interesting to see that Chinese phone maker Bluefox has introduced a new phone with a 4 inch display. The Bluefox NX1 is a cheap Android smartphone […]

  3. As anyone who knows me can tell you, I’m a huge fan of small phones. Like, my iPhone 13 Mini is too big and I miss my SE1.

    Diagonal display sizes:

    iPhone SE1: 100mm
    12/13 Mini: 137mm

According to this rumor, the outside/small display on this foldable iPhone will be ~139–140mm. The trend is in the wrong direction, but at least it’s an improvement over the 155mm iPhone 16.

  4. I got a new phone, asus zenfone 10. It's practically the same as my old phone, a zenfone 8, only is it faster, has twice as much GBs, and most importantly, a usb port that works. The fingerprint reader now is in the power button instead of in the screen, not sure if i like this change. It got two huge lenses that make the phone wobble when lying on its back. But what I love is it's still the same small size, only 5.9".

  5. help! it's that time again! i need a new small android phone. in an ideal world, it is an android-version of an iphone mini. my zenfone 8 is dying and i cannot find a new battery. it was a just fine phone. back in the day i had a oneplus one which i loved but they stopped making small phones afaik.
should i give in and buy an absurdly large good-spec phone? or keep compromising in order to get something i can use with one hand?
