One thing that’s funny about the #MV7 is that even though, from everything that I’ve heard, hardware-wise it’s basically the same as an #SM7b, but because the capsule is closer to the top of the mic and nobody wants to compensate for that combined with the fact that nobody seems to wanna EQ the mic properly, the #MV7 has a distinctly flat and bland sound that you can recognize by sound.

It will be interesting to see what mic #Valkyrae left the #SM7B for.

My favorite #YouTube genre is “autistic men eating an #SM7B for twenty to forty minutes at a time, preferably over #Minecraft or #RocketLeague gameplay”, but unfortunately my favorite channels in that genre always stop

Previewing this week's #BetterPodcasting Live Chat and am noticing how dirty/fuzzy/hairy the windscreen on the SM7B is getting. #Podcast #audio #SM7B #tech

Tip for anyone using the Shure MV7 series of microphones: buy the SM7B windscreen to replace the out of the box one.
It apparently provides better rejection of plosives (can imagine so due to the additional length and better quality foam); and it fits like a glove.
But let me be honest; I just use the above as excuses as it mainly just looks way cooler than the stock windscreen shown below it.

What is it with modern streamers having superior audio, but TV and TV-style content creators having superior video?
Like I’m watching #TimPool’s interview on #Infowars. They gave him a mic that, frankly, absolutely sucks when compared to the #Shure #SM7B that #TimPool uses for #TimcastIRL. But #Infowars, which I believe has long been a local cable television show, looks beautiful.
How come TV studios…including those of #CNN, #FoxNews, and #MSNBC, can’t have audio processing superior to modern streamers? They broadcast from these massive studios that are largely empty, which leads to a lot of echo, and then pump in tons of AC into the building, adding a bunch of background noise.
Granted, smaller studios have only the echo and not the background noise, especially those of primetime hosts, but still.
