Video from slow walks on the farm. Neighbours have cattle there over the summer. I think the cows / calves find it weird to see me on foot, usually they take off if I get close (sometimes calves approach but mothers intervene). These ones were more curious, so I spent a little time watching+ talking to them- they never did answer!

Coming back from a #SlowWalk on the #farm - enjoying my #LazyMonday +hunting for galls for Gall Week, I noticed this person standing on the path staring at me- she didn't look happy to see me- stamped her foot a few times as I stood and took photos/video- I expected her to dash off as I fiddled with camera, talked on video, moved for a better view- but she hung around a few minutes then walked calmly away. 1-As we move into summer, work returns to full craziness mode..lol I work Saturday/Sunday, so I mostly take it easy Monday. In late afternoon I had a lovely #SlowWalk on the acreage +farm. Strong winds + a bit of rain over the weekend knocked down a lot of the fluffy seed pods from poplar trees, so the air was clearer than it has been, it was pleasantly cool around 17C/63F warmer in sunny spots, cooler in shade and the strong breeze. #Alberta #landscape #nature #CountryLiving #Canada #GetOutside

Sunday- day of the #AutumnEquinox was a bit rainy off and on, so I didn't do my main seasonal/remembrance altar (that was yesterday instead, posts yet to come!). Instead, I went for a bit of a #SlowWalk and made an impromptu altar with some odds and ends I picked up along the way-added to a bench that had bits of wood I kept aside from last winter's woodcutting. Super cute canid alert! I was out for a #SlowWalk for Mara's Day in August, had to detour due to lots of cows (+a bull somewhere!) In exchange I got to see the cute calves I showed before +a group of young #Coyotes ! They were just where cows had passed- presumably hunting at the edge of the wetland. I only got 3 shots in 3 seconds, then they were gone! Video shows the location + still photos

Here are a couple of native Asters from a #SlowWalk on the #farm a few days ago (vid etc to come). Asters start mid-summer here, but some carry on well into #Autumn (just beginning here).
First is locally abundant Symphyotrichum ciliolatum which flowers from sun to shade. This one seems to have been grazed by cattle, so it's flowering at ground level!

3/Sightings continued the next day on a short #SlowWalk in the woods- a Ruffed Grouse in my woodcutting area (where kitty and I spent time the day before) + another on a drumming log in the woods. Adjacent to that, I heard, then saw this deer- I only realised after getting closer it was young- again slim and young like kitty, still with its spots and beautiful markings I'd never been close enough to see before! (though I wished it was not so tame with hunting season approaching) #birds #wildlife
