Afgelopen vrijdag mijn grote gitaarheld, de inmiddels 81-jarige Eric Clapton weer live aan het werk gezien in Amsterdam. Van ronkende gitaren tot een prachtige, verstilde, akoestische set op een avond met ook een paar verrassende nummers: ‘If I Don’t Be There By Morning’ en ‘Golden Ring’, allebei van het album ‘Backless’ uit 1978. Uiteraard ontbraken ook de klassiekers niet. Kortom, een topavond!

Slowhand's tribute to Delta blues legend Robert Johnson is released on March 23, 2004. The 14 covers are a "labor of love" and a long-held goal for Clapton to pay homage to one of his main musical influences.
