"Slough has the densest cluster of datacentres in western Europe: as many as 40, with more to come. What has happened here is bound up with the trading estate’s recent history as a partly deregulated “simplified planning zone”, the town’s proximity to London (the faster that digital financial transactions can happen, the better), and the apparently flukish fact that Slough sits atop the cables that connect Britain to the US and Ireland. The datacentres the town hosts are owned and maintained by companies that are far from being household names – Equinix, Digital Realty, Iron Mountain – but serve famous customers including Amazon, Google, Oracle and Microsoft."

Spent the weekend at the National Softball League tournament at Farnham Park near #Slough. Horribly hot and not fun weather for playing softball (or in my case fetching home run balls out of hedges and a bit of base coaching when our players started to wilt). The three teams with Swindon players had rather mixed results. First Bus is launching two new express services to #Uxbridge from High Wycombe and #Slough from Monday 2 March. The M40 express will link High Wycombe and Uxbridge every 30 minutes, taking around 20 minutes and providing a faster, direct alternative to driving. The X74 service from Slough will be extended to #Uxbridge via Uxbridge Road, cutting journey times to about 20 minutes and offering a one-fare, direct trip for commuters. George Burton, Head of Network, said the services offer a simple, reliable, and stress-free option, connecting key Buckinghamshire towns with north west #London and local #Underground lines.

I spent yesterday watching some games in the National Softball League at #FarnhamPark just north of #Slough. Of course I took some time off to inspect the weeds' Why would anyone neglect to do that? Common Mallow and Catsear growing on an earth mound around one of the car parks. I've been reading other similar reports about XL bullies being attacked and often abandoned in random places, I don't think folk are that psycho they are attacking their *own* pet dogs and fear there is some kind of vigilante stuff going on (as owners might not want to report the attack to cops if dog isn't registered)

Walking through the mud flats of my mind, I am careful not to step into any #slough. You get stuck in them easily. Then I would have to wait for a flood of emotions to come back & set me free. But I rather sit by the shore, breathing, when that happens.
