Sloan - Based on the Best Seller
Has Sloan ever released an album that's less than excellent? I mean, you can argue 1993's Smeared, their first album, was more "promising" than "hit the ground running", but it's still pretty great.
This new one is no exception, throwing out hooks, lyrics, and playing that are exceptional...and all are songwriters.
Not quite sure why they don't make 'em like this anymore...but hey, they're still killing it.

Sloan - One Chord to Another
It's been too long since I've featured Sloan, the best band most people in the US have never heard of.
They almost broke up before releasing this album (thanks, Geffen...), which would have been a shame, given the amazing stuff they've put out...and this is one of their very best.
As usual, all four members contribute material. And they're still going strong today.

So many great bands coming out of #Japan these days, and surprisingly you hear their songs being either the intro or outro for #anime There's something brilliant about that strategy.
I'm old so my musical tastes tend to go for the 90s alt-rock, grunge style. And I'm getting a lot of those feels from some of these bands and even though I can't understand 'em (lets face it, couldn't get a lot of the lyrics from the 90s til much later too:)) they still give me those "Goddam, thats a great sounding song!" feels.
This one, from #hitsujibungaku gives me heavy 90s band feels especially from around #Halifax #novascotia , thinking #Sloan #Plumtree (Scott Pilgrim), #Jale , #EricsTrip (Joel Plaskett)

und mit den hier in der Konver schon beschriebenen Unterschieden zum Heute und mit 10x mehr Wetlands im Miozän ergeben sich 6608 ppb CH4 und daraus 2.12°C.Zusammen mit den ungefähr 560ppm CO2 in 15Ma und der Theorie von heute, ECS = 3±1°C für 560ppm, die ich einfach mal unhinterfragt übernehme,
ergeben sich 5.12°C im Mittel-Miozän.Westerhold et al 2020 haben 65mio Jahre globale Temperatur anhand von d18O proxies errechnet.
Für die 1 Mio Jahre in 15Ma kommen bei denen ca. 19°C raus.
Das ist 5°C über pre-industrial.
Und sehr nah an meinen 5.12°C, bei denen Methan aus Wetlands und auch aus normalem Wild-land sehr wichtig sind.
Also ich denke, ich hab Recht.😁
